GENERAL RESOURCES
Propane is widely used across the world, in homes and in businesses. No matter how you’re using propane, safety should be your first priority.
Remember to read and follow all manufacturer instructions for any propane-powered equipment, from grills to forklifts.
Never allow children to operate, transport or otherwise tamper with propane tanks or equipment. Always store and transport gas cylinders properly. When replacing propane cylinders, transport in a secure, upright position in a well-ventilated area in your vehicle, and take them home immediately. Don’t store cylinders in a garage or shed, instead, always use or store cylinders in a secure and upright position outdoors.
If you smell gas, turn off the cylinder valve only if it is safe to do so. If you are unable to turn off the valve, leave the area immediately and dial 911 or your local fire department.
